SnapRoute’s Cloud Native Network Operating System
SnapRoute was formed in 2015 by a team of former Apple professionals who contributed the open-source software FlexSwitch to the Open Compute Project (OCP) initiated by Facebook. The goal was to provide a simpler, more flexible and reliable alternative to proprietary solutions, allowing for high-levels of automation and programmability. Due to strong interest, they effortlessly raised more than $25 million for the project, which was used to continue developing additional features for FlexSwitch and to improve suitability for use. After collaborating with Ubuntu contriving a certified integrated network stack for white-box switches, it became silent around the start-up.
In 2019 when they reported back with a brand-new, industry-first, cloud native network operating software. CN-NOS provides a unique containerized microservices architecture delivering enhanced network agility, increased security and compliance, and enables operational effectiveness to reduce costs and accelerate business success.
In November 2019 SnapRoute was acquired by Infoblox and is not available as “SnapRoute CN-NOS” anymore. However we can help you find a suitable alternative Open Networking OS for your specific needs.
